Jakarta!

Jakarta is located on the northwest coast of Java and was formerly known as Batavia. It was made capital of Indonesia after World War II when the country became independent.

Jakarta has its own special culture Betawi that derived from the word Batavia. the everyday speech of Jakartans is liberally laced with expressions. Some of them can be distinguished for example, f becomes p and z becomes j. So if next time you want to say no, say 'nggak'. ;)

Now there are a lot that Jakarta has to offer to tourists. Sight seeing for one. Jakarta Old Town and National Musuem will be the perfect way to start. Check out Jakarta's oldest place of worship too in Black Portuguese Church. It will be interesting and knowlegable to get to know Jakarta this way.
